Westech works with its customers to define their requirements for the application, bringing lenses to volume production.
We provide lens and mechanical design, rapid prototyping, total QC management, and precision high-volume manufacturing with repeatability. Our optical and opto-mechanical designers have years of practical experience designing high volume-manufacturable optical assemblies, and we use a range of design programs for tolerance analysis of optical designs.
Westech works with camera manufacturers to match our lenses to the latest sensors and bring the lenses to volume production. Our engineering department designs lenses to ensure low cost without compromising on performance.
We design for manufacturability and include supportive performance data with any design proposal. We can also provide tolerance and independent design analysis, and we will recommend glass material that is readily available and easier to work with. We make it work in production — not just on paper.

Prototyping
After a lens design is approved, prototypes are rapidly fabricated — without the premium cost.
Design drawings are submitted to the customer within about two weeks for review and sign-off. We don't proceed until all specs and drawings are understood and approved.

Production
Quality raw glass sourced at volume discounts. Production capabilities to hold the tightest specifications.
Most of the optics we produce are custom, however we have an ever-growing library of standard and stock items.
A key point that sets us apart from our competitors is our ability to source quality raw glass and purchase it at volume discounts. We always carefully monitor costs and keep our own overhead low; the result of all of these measures is dramatic savings for our customers.
Because our production methods are exacting, we believe we produce some of the finest optics on the market today.

QC Management
Westech tests all optical parameters including surface accuracy, TIA, radius, EFL and MTF.

To assure the best result for each of our clients, we can devise a test fixture and procedure tailored to a customer's product, measuring and recording the data for statistical process control. This not only ensures accuracy in the final product, but lower costs in production as well.
